MALCO Scholastic Excellence Awards: These awards were distributed to district tenth and twelfth standard toppers who appeared for public exams, in a grand function organized at MALCO Vidyalaya. Ms. Lakshmipriya, sub-collector, Mettur, was the chief guest. Around 12 students were awarded in 2009-10. 

Vedanta Scholarship: We instituted the Vedanta Scholarship for deserving students pursuing higher engineering and medicine education. In 2009-10, Rs. 3.25 lakhs was distributed across 13 students. Mr. J. Chandrakumar, Collector, Salem district, was chief guest at the function.

Evening study centers: We run seven evening study centers at Mettur to reinforce the cause of continuous education and reduce school drop outs. We provided quality education to 325 rural children.

Supporting Government Schools: MALCO supported Government schools in plant vicinity with study materials, desks and benches. MALCO also renovated a government primary school building in Ramamoorthinagar for Rs. 3 lacs.
